Traffic signalization upgrades are part of the State Road 85 improvement project, from S.R. 123 to Hospital Drive, in Crestview. In this photo, crews are excavating for a new mast arm signal foundation on the northeast corner of the S.R. 85/Walmart Road intersection. Crews are installing new mast arms at each corner of the intersection to replace the diagonal span traffic signal currently in place. Next, crews will pour concrete to form the foundations required to support the new mast arm. This work is part of the $25 million S.R. 85 improvement project that also includes resurfacing 11 miles of S.R. 85, making improvements at the S.R. 85/I-10 interchange, and upgrading access management for key turn lanes, side streets, driveways, and median openings. The project is currently estimated for completion in summer 2024.
