OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla.—Drivers in Okaloosa and Walton counties may encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads this week as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Here is this week’s traffic advisory.
— Brooks Bridge, Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter the following traffic disruptions, Sunday, June 2 through Thursday, June 6, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities:
— Mid-Bay Bridge, Rehabilitation Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on the Mid-Bay Bridge from Sunday, June 2, through Thursday, June 6, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction activities.
— State Road 85, Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Drivers may encounter intermittent State Road 85 lane closures between I-10 and Hospital Drive from Sunday, June 2, through Thursday, June 6, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving operations.
— Mary Esther Boulevard, Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to Beal Parkway
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on Mary Esther Boulevard for concrete work and milling and paving operations at the following locations and times:
— State Road 85, Resurfacing from north of Commerce Drive to Bill Lundy Road
Drivers may encounter intermittent S.R. 85 single-lane closures for crews to install rumble strips and place thermoplastic striping between:
— Interstate 10 (I-10), Resurfacing from west of Yellow River to east of Shoal River
Drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between mile markers 56 and 60 from 6 p.m. Sunday, June 2, through 6 a.m. Friday, June 7. Construction crews will be milling and paving the roadway.
— U.S. 98, Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast
Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 98 lane closures between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach from Sunday, June 2, through Thursday, June 6, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for concrete work.
— U.S. 98, Widening from Mack Bayou Road to County Road 30A
Drivers may encounter intermittent, alternating lane closures, Sunday, June 2 through Thursday, June 6, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for signalization work and for crews to place thermoplastic striping at the following locations:
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
