SHALIMAR, Fla. – A Shalimar man has been arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) following an investigation into the sharing of child sexual abuse material, the FDLE said.
The FDLE said its agents arrested Lyle Richard Rubins, 26, of Shalimar, on Wednesday on eight counts of promoting the sexual performance of a child and 25 counts of the possession, control and viewing of sexual depictions of a child. Both charges are felonies.
According to the FDLE, its investigation into Rubins started when FDLE agents discovered that an electronic device was being used to offer to share files of known child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Agents served a search warrant at his Shalimar residence Wednesday, and CSAM was reportedly found on two cellular phones.
FDLE was assisted on the case by the FBI and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Rubins was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail and ordered held without bond pending first appearance. He will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office, First Judicial Circuit.
