EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Eglin Air Force Base will move back to Health Protection Condition Bravo on June 27, according to an announcement today by the base.
Brig. Gen. Scott Cain, the 96th Test Wing commander, is directing Health Protection Condition Bravo due to the increased community transmission of COVID-19 across the local communities, according to the statement.
Mask wear is not required indoors except for the hospital in accordance with the new DOD policy. There are still no restrictions on gathering size.
Healthcare professionals will continue to comply with mask-wear guidance. Patients, visitors, and all others entering base healthcare facilities will continue to wear masks while in these facilities to reduce transmission of COVID-19, the statement said.
All Eglin AFB personnel will continue to exercise diligence in personal hygiene and public health risk mitigation measures. The measures include:
Official visitors do not include personnel receiving access to DoD facilities (e.g., delivery personnel, tax services), individuals who have access to the grounds of, but not Eglin buildings (e.g., contract groundskeepers, fuel delivery personnel, household goods transportation personnel), personnel accessing DoD buildings unrelated to the performance of DoD business (e.g., residential housing), or personnel accessing DoD facilities to receive a public benefit (e.g., commissary; exchange; museum, morale, welfare and recreation resources).
