Donahoo wins runoff election for Niceville City Council

NICEVILLE, Fla — Carl Donahoo is Niceville’s newest City Council member. He was the winner of the August 4 runoff election in Niceville for the City Council Group 4 seat. Donahoo defeated Stephen Shelton in the runoff election 424 votes to 138 votes.

The runoff was necessary because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote during Niceville’s July 21 balloting.

More than 1,750 voters took part in the July 21 special election which saw Dan Henkel elected mayor and Abner Williams winning the Group 3 seat on the city council.

In the balloting on July 21, Donahoo received 825 votes to Shelton’s 485. Rachelle Waltz received 386 votes.
