Distinguished Young Woman of Okaloosa County Class of 2018 registration underway

Registration for the 2018 Distinguished Young Woman of Okaloosa County scholarship is open to all rising Okaloosa high school seniors. The deadline for entry is March 3, 2017.

Registration for the class of 2018 Distinguished Young Woman of Okaloosa County scholarship is open to all rising seniors (Class of 2018) attending school in Okaloosa County, Florida. The deadline for entry is March 3, 2017.

Distinguished Young Women is a  national scholarship program inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential through a fun and transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments. The Okaloosa County program is in its sixth year and has awarded college scholarships and monetary scholarship awards totaling over $15,000 annually.

Participation showcase include scholastics, interview, self-expression, talent, and fitness. The annual program is produced by the volunteers who believe in the positive mission that each participant learn to be her best self and further her education and prepare for a successful future.

Deadline for registration is March 3, 2017 with the 2018 program date in July 2017.

Founded in 1958 in Mobile, Alabama, Distinguished Young Women is the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls. During its 59 years of operation, the program has provided life-changing experiences for more than 745,000 young women. Last year, Distinguished Young Women provided more than $1.1 billion in cash and college scholarship opportunities to program participants at the local, state and national level. Previously known as America’s Junior Miss, the program announced its new name in June 2010.
