CRESTVIEW, Fla. — A Crestview man originally wanted on a stalking charge is now facing five additional charges, including trafficking in narcotics, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has announced.
Jerry Blackshear, 47, has been charged with trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).
Deputies with the OCSO were on patrol near School Avenue around 7 p.m. on Wednesday when they reportedly contacted Blackshear, who they knew was wanted by another law enforcement agency for aggravated stalking, the OCSO said.
Blackshear allegedly refused to comply with commands to put his hands behind his back and tried to flee. Once he was caught, deputies said they found 52 grams of meth, nine grams of fentanyl, and cocaine in Blackshear’s pockets, along with jeweler’s bags containing fentanyl.
