The man, William Talbot, 35, was already facing a half dozen charges after reportedly fleeing an attempted traffic stop, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said in its statement. Later, after deputies served a search warrant on his residence, he was charged with trafficking in fentanyl and trafficking in methamphetamine, the OCSO said.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, its deputy tried to make a traffic stop on September 19 on a vehicle with an expired tag near Olene’s Lane and Old River Road in Baker. The driver is alleged to have ignored the lights and siren, instead driving to a home on Olene’s Lane.

Talbot then jumped out of the car carrying a small bag, the OCSO said. He reportedly ran inside the home and refused to exit.

According to the OCSO, charges against Talbot include trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in methamphetamine, fleeing and eluding with lights and siren activated, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, resisting an officer, and violation of probation on an original charge of grand theft.
