Young artists across Okaloosa County are waiting to see if their entries will be selected in Okaloosa County Transit’s contest promoting public transportation and local artists.
Winners will have their art displayed on Okaloosa County Transit buses that travel throughout the county.
Voting began April 1, 2014 and runs through April 20, 2014. Winners will be announced April 21, 2014.
Entries are posted on the system’s Facebook page. By clicking on the Facebook page’s Art on the Move tab, users may cast their votes once a day in each category: elementary school, middle school, high school and college.
“The pairing of public transportation and art is common in cities across the world,” said Barry Peterson, program manager of OCT. “We are thrilled to provide a unique canvas for budding artists in Okaloosa County and encourage all community members to vote every day for what they’d like to see on our buses.”
