Cafe Rico to expand food truck service, close restaurant

With regular food truck locations available to him at 3rd Planet Brewing and Eglin Air Force Base, Daniel Soto sees only opportunity for growth and expansion.

Café Rico, a popular Niceville Hispanic Caribbean restaurant, has announced its intention to expand its food truck operations and to close its brick-and-mortar location on East Hwy 20.

Owner Daniel Soto has announced that the restaurant’s last day of operation will be Saturday, July 7.  He has also announced that Café Rico has received a permit to operate a Café Rico food truck within Niceville city limits.

According to Soto, the permit is one of Niceville’s first under a new ordinance that permits permanent food truck operations. Previously, local food trucks were  allowed only to operate in conjunction with special events and private caterings.
