Fifty-seven young anglers teamed up with their dad, mom, granddad, grandmother, uncle, aunt, or a family friend to take part in the 6th Annual Pinfish Grand Nationals at Bluewater Bay Marina Complex on Saturday, August 5.
The fun and popular tournament featured two-person teams consisting of one licensed fisherman (age 16+) and one angler 15 years old or younger. The teams had exactly one hour to fish anywhere inside Ward Cove on Rocky Bayou.
Wyatt Brunson and Chris Brunson were the tournament’s first place winners. They weighed in pinfish totaling of 2.5 pounds (pictured above, top).
Ava Griner and Jake Griner won second place with a total weight of one pound, 14 ounces.
Lilyana Wight and her fishing partner Ryan Adair weighed in fish totaling one pound, 13.5 ounces, capturing third place. They also weighed in the Big Fish of the day at 4.6 ounces.
Each of the winners is a previous tournament winner.
