Weekly Traffic Advisory, Bay County and Jackson County (Florida Department of Transportation)
BAY COUNTY, Fla. — Motorists will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
State Road (S.R.) 390 Widening from Jenks Avenue to S.R. 77
Kentucky Avenue remains closed at the S.R. 390 intersection. Drivers may use either West 18th Street or Carolina Avenue for access to S.R. 390. S.R. 77 pedestrian traffic is shifted to the east side of the roadway near the S.R. 390 intersection. The sidewalk on the west side of S.R. 77 is temporarily closed from the S.R. 390 intersection to 17th Street. Pedestrians may cross to the sidewalk on the east side of S.R. 77 at either the S.R. 390 or 17th Street intersections.
U.S. 98/Tyndall Air Force Base Flyover
Crews will begin driving pilings for the flyover structure at Louisiana Avenue. The work will take place off the roadway with no anticipated traffic impacts.
Beach Drive (U.S. 98B) Resurfacing from 15th Street to West of Harrison Avenue (U.S. 231)
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures on 6th Street from Harrison Avenue to Beach Drive from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 to Friday, Aug. 12 for paving work. Flaggers and advanced warning signage will assist motorists through the work area.
U.S. 20 Resurfacing from S.R. 77 to U.S. 231
Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures and new traffic patterns near U.S. 231 the week of Monday, Aug. 8 for paving operations.
U.S. 231 Resurfacing from I-10 to U.S. 90
Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 8 through Friday, Aug. 12 for striping operations.
Interstate 10 Sneads Weigh in Motion (WIM) Equipment Installation
Motorists will encounter eastbound inside lane closures at mile marker 152 Tuesday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 10 as crews install equipment at the Weigh-In-Motion station.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
