OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health reported today that Okaloosa County recorded 1,178 new COVID-19 cases in the seven-day period ending Wednesday, August 4, up from 810 new cases the previous week.
The testing positivity rate is 30.4 percent, up from 27.6 percent in Okaloosa the previous week.
There were 2,355 vaccinations administered in Okaloosa County during the same period, up from 1,812 the previous week.
About 40 percent of Okaloosa County’s total population is fully vaccinated. Nearly 48 percent of residents aged 12+ are fully vaccinated.
Statewide, the new case positivity rate has risen to 18.9 percent, up from 17.8 percent the previous week. The FDOH reports 175 deaths this past week.
