FLORIDA – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is encouraging residents and visitors to the state to be alligator aware and has issued a list of precautions to help people stay safe around alligators.
Alligators are more active and visible during the hot days Florida experiences this time of the year, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said.
While serious injuries caused by alligators are rare in Florida, the FWC recommends taking the following precautions when in and around the water to prevent conflicts with alligators:
