FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.— The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County (DOH-Okaloosa) is partnering with Okaloosa County Emergency Medical Services and local fire departments to offer COVID-19 vaccinations by appointment only. A vaccination clinic has been added for March 9 due to the expansion of eligible groups by Executive Order 21-47.

DOH-Okaloosa is following Executive Order 21-47 and can only vaccinate persons 65 years and older, health care workers with direct patient contact, long-term care residents and staff, K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older, sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older, and firefighters 50 years of age and older.
Health care workers with direct patient contact, K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older, sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older, and firefighters 50 years of age and older will need to show their work badge, W2 or a pay stub. IDs will be verified at the appointment.

The vaccination provided will be the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. A second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine is required 21 days after the first dose. This dose will be scheduled at the first dose appointment. Medical experts and doctors have developed a safe and effective vaccine. This vaccine has been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration based on clinical testing.
