An evening with award-winning author Susan Carol McCarthy

The Friends of the Niceville Library invite the community to a special evening with award-winning author Susan Carol McCarthy, October 25, 6:30 p.m., at the Niceville Community Center. The event is free of charge.

McCarthy is a native Floridian who lives in Carlsbad, California. Her second novel, True Fires, was inspired by true events that occurred in Lake County, Florida in 1954. McCarthy’s current novel, A Place We Knew Well, is an enthralling family story set in Orlando during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Booklist said that, “McCarthy memorably captures the impact of the intense military mobilization on residents. But the novel’s greatest strength is its seamless portrayal of what this international chess game means for one man on the brink of losing everything.”

Refreshments will be provided. Bayou Book Company, Hallmark Inc. will have books available that night for purchase. The author will be available for book signing. Mark your calendars for this wonderful literary evening you will not want to miss. Please call the Niceville Library at (850)279-4863 ext. 1504 for further information.
