"EAT
WHAT YOU GROW," A FREE SEMINAR
POSTED
FEBRUARY 23, 2010
Growing your own vegetables is a smart choice for
your health, as well as a way to cut down on the grocery bill. And
that’s why I’ve been invited to conduct a vegetable gardening
seminar at the 2010 Eco-Nomic Living Expo at the Fairgrounds in Fort
Walton Beach on Saturday morning. The theme of the Expo this year is
“Smart Choices - Money, Home, Health.”
The free seminar, called “Eat What you Grow,” is a
brief introduction to vegetable gardening in Northwest Florida. It
will be held in room 3 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. If you are new to
vegetable gardening in Northwest Florida, or have not had much
success with growing veggies in the past, please join me.
Other free green and gardening seminars at the Eco-Nomic
Living Expo include “Green Lawn and Green Pocketbook Can Happen,”
“Green and Healthy Food,” “Sustainable Florida,” “Vermiculture,”
“Hydroponics,” and “Green and Healthy Home.”
The Second Annual Eco-Nomic Living Expo begins at 9
a.m. on Feb. 27 and continues until 3 p.m. with a variety of
exhibits and seminars for young and old. It is a service of the UF/IFAS
Okaloosa County Extension Office. The Fairgrounds is located at 1958
Lewis Turner Blvd.
I hope to see you there.
