Tickets for “SHOWTIME 2009” go on sale Monday, March 30

Tickets for “SHOWTIME 2009,” presented by the Pensacola Children’s Chorus, go on sale Monday, March 30, 2009. Ticket prices are $29.00, $27.00 & $17.00 (subject to processing fee) and will be available at the Saenger Theatre Box Office (850-595-3880) and through TicketMaster at 800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.

The theme for “SHOWTIME 2009” is “Back Home at the Saenger” and audiences will enjoy a fully staged production by ages 8 –18 of the Pensacola Children’s Chorus. Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 8 & 9, at the newly renovated Saenger Theatre.

Directed by Allen and Susan Pote, “SHOWTIME 2009” will feature a variety of music, spectacular costumes and lively choreography. In addition to favorite songs for all ages, this year's highlights include “The Tale of Pensacola,” in celebration of our city’s 450th birthday; “A Touch of Opera,” based on “Masquerade” from “Phantom of the Opera”; a lively “Country Medley”; and “A Touch of Broadway,” with songs from “Spamalot,” “Legally Blond,” “Jersey Boys” and “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The Finale will feature the spectacular music and choreography of “The Lion King.”

Over 300 performers, comprising seven choirs, will entertain in this fast paced delightful evening of music.

“SHOWTIME 2009” features colorful costumes designed by LaRaye Ryan; as well as choreography by Donna Mixon, Michael Dennis, Emily Mixon, and guest choreographer Karen Hebert. Donna Mixon also serves as production coordinator.
