Your BBB Foundation Serving Northwest Florida is pleased to announce the winners of the seventh annual Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, Customer Service Excellence Award and Student Ethics Scholarship from its District II area which covers Okaloosa and Walton counties.
The Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics was created to publicly recognize business and charities that insist on exceptionally high standards of behavior dealing with customers, vendors and employees.
This year’s Torch Award winner was selected because of their determination to stand out in a competitive industry by paying for all their employees’ Clean Trust certification – even for their office manager! And the business itself is Clean Trust certified, a claim they say none of their local competitors can make. Because Fusion Carpet Care invests so heavily in their employees, they are intentional in how they seek to maintain employee morale and thus employee retention.Committed to the community, Fusion Carpet Care donated the use of their cleaning equipment and the necessary chemicals to clean Elliot Point Elementary School while their employees donated their time to complete the task.
In addition to recognizing ethical businesses, your BBB also awarded three, $1,000 Student Ethics Scholarships to local students. Jessica Neil Harrison, from South Walton High School, Kyle Scott Saleeby, from Niceville High School, andKatherine Marie Stone, from Fort Walton Beach High School, were this year’s recipients from your BBB’s District II area. The scholarship winners or their representative read their essay on character building, required as part of the application process for their scholarship.
