More than 20 schools from Okaloosa County participated in the annual Change for Children Campaign during the 2011-2012 year. The schools raised more than $17,000 in change to benefit the abused, neglected and abandoned children of our community.

Schools that participated used creative ways like holding a bake sale, to collect change at their school. Ruckel Middle School was the winner from the Okaloosa County School District and raised $3,010.

Ken Hair, President & CEO of Children in Crisis, commented, “The Change for Children campaign is such a wonderful program within the Okaloosa County School District and I would like to thank everyone very much for their participation and wonderful support. The Change for Children program provides CIC with critical funds to help feed, clothe and care for our children at our Children’s Neighborhood. “
