The Niceville High School Eagle Pride band has been selected to participate in the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City.

The NHS band was one of 11 selected from 150 marching bands seeking to perform in the 86th annual event. More than 2 million spectators will view the parade along the parade route and another 50 million or more TV viewers are likely to watch the live broadcast.

Other participating bands, as of May 4, 2011, include: Father Ryan High School Marching Band, Nashville, Tennessee; Kenton Ridge High School Marching Band, Springfield, Ohio; North Carolina A & T State University Marching Band, Greensboro, North Carolina; and University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Lafayette, Louisiana



The parade will be held on Nov. 22, 2012.
