We Teach Children to Save April – July 31, 2010



Okaloosa $aves “Teach Children to Save” program, kicks off each year in April. Any child or youth 18 or younger who sets a savings goal and makes a deposit(s) into a saving account (Existing or New Account) from April to July 31, 2010 becomes eligible to win a $100 savings bonds, donated by N.E.W. Corporation.


Visit your local financial institution, make a deposit, and complete an entry form. Local banks and credit unions participating in “Teach Children to Save 2010” include:


Banktrust
Beach Community Bank
Eglin Federal Credit Union
First City Bank
First National Bank of Crestview
Okaloosa County Teachers Credit Union
Premier Community Bank


“Start saving young! Every penny today becomes a dollar tomorrow,” says Donna Kidney, Senior VP at First City Bank and Okaloosa Saves Chair. “Teach Children to Save” program has encouraged 845 children to deposit over $109,378 into savings accounts over the last five years!” Many groups are promoting savings and this project.
