The 26th annual Pensacola Crawfish Festival will be held April 30, May 1 and 2 in Bartram Park, downtown Pensacola. The festival is presented by Fiesta of Five Flags, Miller Lite, Buffalo Rock-Pepsi, BB&T, COX and WEAR ABC 3.

Times: Friday, April 30 noon – 11 p.m.
Saturday, May 1 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Sunday, May 2 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Join us for lunch on Friday, April 30 for a sneak peak of the festival and get in FREE before 3 p.m.

The festival features 16,000 pounds of boiled crawfish provided by Mike’s Crawfish Boils from Duson, La. Cajun dishes such as red beans and rice, boudin balls, seafood gumbo, etouffee stuffed pistolettes, Cajun spicy burgers, Cajun pasta and even fried gator will be available as well as traditional fare such as hot dogs, chicken tenders, and funnel cakes. Local favorites, Cajun Specialty Meats and Jerry’s Cajun Café, will be preparing their Cajun menus for the festival. Other food vendors will include CP Concessions, Crabbie’s Crab Trap, Fun Time Concessions, Mr. Hot Dog and New Orleans Cajun Cuisine.

New and returning artists will perform traditional Louisiana swamp pop, Cajun, and zydeco music on the Stoli Entertainment Stage. Enjoy entertainment provided by Hunter Hayes, Travis Matte and the Kingpins, Hadley Castille and the Sharecroppers Band, Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns, Bayou Boys, Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha Chas, Tomato and Daddy Man and Dennis Stroughmatt.

Hunter Hayes, an 18-year-old musician who can play over 12 instruments, will be performing Friday night at the festival. Abbie Offerdahl, Pensacola Crawfish Festival Entertainment Chair said, “Hunter Hayes was such a hit with the crowd last year, we had to bring him back again. Hayes will be performing from 6:15 – 8:15 p.m. Friday night.”

New entertainment to the festival this year is Travis Matte and the Kingpins. “Travis Matte is a top Cajun fiddle in Acadiana, La. Matte and his band quickly became the most popular party band there. They have quite a variety of songs, some you do not want to miss. Matte and his band will be entertaining the crowd from 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. Friday night,” said Offerdahl.

Additional new bands are Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns and Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha Chas. Jamie Bergeron and his band will perform two sets on Saturday and Nathan Williams and his band will performs two sets on Sunday.

The Stoli Entertainment Stage will be the site of the 5th annual Cat Country 98.7 Crawfish Eating Contest. Contestants may participate in the kids, adults, or CrawDADDY division. Adult entry is $5 and CrawDADDY entry is $10. Registration starts 45 minutes prior to the competition. Prizes are given in each competition.

On Saturday and Sunday, the children’s area will be open until 5 p.m. and offers cost friendly arts and crafts, face painting, games, and the popular NASCRAW races. BB&T is bringing the BB&T race car to put on display during the festival. Racing fans can get upfront and personal with the race car that is driven by Clint Bowyer who finished 15th in the final 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship point standings.

Bring the family and come for the day or the weekend. Admission is $5 daily or $10 for a weekend pass. Children under 12 get in free. A daily coupon from Jerry’s Cajun Café or Cajun Specialty Meats will be given to every festival guest. Tickets are available at BB&T locations, 5061 North 12th Avenue or 236 West Garden Street and the Fiesta of Five Flags office, 2121 West Intendencia Street. Handicapped parking is available across the street from Bartram Park at Fountain Park.
